Team Lead, Mathematics Materials and Assessment Design
We are seeking a full-time, highly organized, team-oriented, and visionary practitioner/curriculum developer/researcher to join an innovative, federally funded multiyear mathematics education project aimed at empowering middle grades (6-9) students and helping them meet their potential as mathematics learners. This individual will lead a small team developing resources for implementing Mathematics Empowerment through Standards-Based Grading (ME-SBG).
ME-SBG builds on a successful project that empowered students to take charge of their learning by providing feedback on what they knew and needed to work on and promoting reassessment for full credit after further study. The successful candidate will lead the development and refinement of resources for teachers and students, including formative and summative assessments, reassessments, and supplementary materials such as enrichment activities, reteaching guides, and peer-teaching resources. They will also collaborate with project members to design professional development for educators and “professional development for students” to help students fully leverage the opportunities ME-SBG provides.
This role offers significant potential for leadership growth. In addition to advancing the implementation of ME-SBG, the Team Leader will collaborate with the Vice President of Operations and the ME-SBG Project Director to shape the program’s future—scaling its impact, extending it to additional grade levels and subject areas, and integrating support for student motivation. This position is funded for three years through a federally supported grant. Continued work beyond three years may depend on securing additional grant funding, with opportunities to contribute to new and synergistic projects and initiatives.
